Welcome to the Project!

Hello English II and Basic English II! This is our homepage for the blogging assignment for our To Kill A Mockingbird unit.
Your job for this project will be to...
  • create a blog for this project (I'll need the address so I can grade it.)

  • develop a new but realistic perspective that doesn't exist in the book. (i.e. a new character)

  • let us get to know your new perspective/character

  • Answer key questions (posted on this site) from your new perspective.

The goals of this assignment are for you to...
  • Show me you have read and understand what you're reading.

  • Learn how to look at a situation from different angles.

  • Connect better to the events, themes, and conflicts in this novel.

  • Learn how to use a blog as a way to practice writing and communicating.

I will assess each post by looking at the following things...

  • Did the student answer all of the key questions posed? (5 points)

  • Did the student respond thoughtfully and completely to the questions? (5 points)
  • Did the student offer a reasonable answer considering the events addressed in the question? (5 points)

  • Did the student realistically maintain his/her new perspective in the post? (5 points)

  • Is the post grammatically correct and school appropriate? (5 points)

  • Is the post pleasing to the eye? ( is formatted so it's easy to read and follow) (5 points)

Some things to consider while working on this project...

  • Make sure you choose a perspective/point of view that helps you meet the goals of the assignment.

  • Make sure you keep your blog school appropriate.
  • Make sure you subscribe to this blog so you can get the most up-to-date postings and questions.

  • Don't forget to give me your blog's address so that I can grade it! :)

  • Don't fall behind on your postings.

  • Be sure to visit the posts under the label "References & Resources" if you get stuck.
